Backup and Recovery: Ntiva Backup with Datto SIRIS offers automated, continuous backup of your critical data, applications, and systems. In case of data loss or system failures, you can quickly recover files, folders, or entire systems from backup points.

Instant Virtualization: SIRIS technology enables instant virtualization of backup snapshots. In the event of a system failure, you can instantly spin up virtual machines on Datto Siris appliance to maintain business continuity while addressing the underlying issue.

Cloud-Based Recovery: Your data is securely replicated to Datto's cloud infrastructure, ensuring redundancy and availability. This cloud-based recovery option allows for offsite data retention and disaster recovery planning.

Deliverables

  • Siris Appliance(s) configured and setup at client’s location(s) or datacenter(s)
  • Backups configured to clients policies or Ntiva’s default policy
    • Ntiva Standard Policy
      • Hourly backups from 8am till 10pm per clients appliance time zone
      • Daily backup to cloud repositories
      • Intra-daily backup for seven (7) days
      • Daily backup for one (1) week
      • Weekly backups will be saved for the duration of select service commitments of clients Datto cloud storage

Task 1 – Project Management and Deployment

  • Installation and configuration of Datto Backup with SIRIS agents on designated servers and endpoints.
  • Install the physical Datto device at the customer's location.
  • Ensure it's on the same subnet with minimal physical hops.
  • Rack-mounted or free-standing installation options.
  • Connect the Datto device to the network, preferably via Gig switches.
  • Registration
    • Update to the latest image.
    • Complete the registration screen, including hostname and user credentials.
    • Confirm billing with the customer.
  • Networking
  • Set a static IP and DNS servers for the Datto device.
  • Ensure the static IP is outside the DHCP range and on the same subnet as servers.
  • Configure IPMI (if applicable) with static IP and credentials.
  • Open required ports for device functionality.
  • Installing Agents & Configuring Jobs
  • Install backup agents on all servers needing backup.
  • Reboots are required after agent installation.
  • Uninstall conflicting backup software before Datto agent installation.
  • Take snapshots before uninstalling legacy backup services.
  • Configure backup jobs in the Datto portal for each server per Ntiva’s or clients policy.
  • Set backup schedules, retention, and alerts.
  • Summary and Documentation Update
  • Review and configure agent settings.
  • Update documentation with device information, credentials, retention settings, and server details.

Task 2 – Normal Operations

This phase includes routine day-to-day operations of Ntiva Backup with Datto SIRIS:

Service Assumptions

  • Labor associated with normal operations will be billed to client’s service agreement.
  • Ntiva Backup with Datto SIRIS provides data protection and recovery capabilities but does not guarantee the prevention of all data disasters.
  • Ntiva has ability to manage clients servers via Ntiva installed tools to ensure datto backup agent functionality.
  • Datto Appliance hardware must be under contractual warranty for free replacement parts. Any parts needed after warranty will be billable to client.
